A regional Far Eastern university’s history for the 50 years is a subject of the study. The establishment end development stages of the Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service are systematized, the main academic staff’s achievements are introduced. National education development stages and modern society challenges are analyzed. Main courses of medium and long term development strategy amid political, economic and social processes’ globalization and drastic change of education programmes of higher professional education appliance approaches are stated.
